Polymer science, often known as macromolecular science, is a branch of materials science that studies polymers, particularly synthetic polymers like plastics and elastomers. Researchers from a variety of fields, including chemistry, physics, and engineering, work in the topic of polymer science. Designing materials with multifunctionality, or an unexpected mix of material capabilities, such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, specialised mechanical properties, and shape memory, is a current focus in polymer research. Polymer science and material innovation are clearly a road to creativity that has made significant progress in recent years while also posing significant hurdles. The best proof we have is the overwhelming number of connected projects, patents, and scientific publications.
